Sisters
I was honored to be commissioned to paint these beautiful sisters, two Icelandic mares. This is painted in acrylics.
For the composition, I didn’t want them to be like a pair, with the same leg movements, so I had one of them in trot and the other in tölt.
These two horses are born and bred in H0rnafjörður, South East Iceland, where the iconic mountain Brunnhorn, often referred to as The Batman Mountain is. If you look closely at the background by the darker mare, you can see it’s outlines.
