This large oil painting of Jana and Hjálmur is probably the most travelled painting I have done so far. It went with me from Iceland to Tenerife, where I shipped it to Germany, it was returned to Madrid, back to Tenerife, and shipped again to Germany.
Some paintings go through all the scale of motions, colors, mood and even change seasons.
This is one of them. I went from fall to spring to summer, and back to fall. I changed the composition, the expression on both Jana and Hjálmur, until I finally got it where I wanted.
