When painting many commissions in a row, it is so liberating to paint freely what comes to me at the time.

This mare stood out to me from a selection of photos of Icelandic horses, from the amazing photographer Kolbrún Grétarsdóttir

It’s bright and vibrant, raw and gestural

This painting is currently being displayed at Gallery ART67 in Reykjavík (Laugavegur 61) and will be throughout September or until sold.
