Oil painting with a palette knife of a ram. Painting sheep is quite fun, the fluffy wool, the horns, their expression make it all interesting.
Icelandic sheep are unique, they are the domestic breed, belonging to the Northern European Short-tailed group of sheep.
In Iceland, Eurovision, the European Song Contest is very popular. I happened to be painting this ram while it was on TV and the Icelandic band came on. The lead singer, Daði Freyr, and his band were all wearing outfits in similar colors as I had painted for the background here, which is why I named the ram Daði Freyr.
