When painting portrait commissions, it is always difficult to not fall into the realism and replicate the photo reference to the detail.
That is however not the style I have been developing, so I was very happy to get the inspiration from the reference to paint this guy like I saw him, bright and colorful with a smirky smile and a hint of calmness about him.
I finally painted a bold colored portrait as a commission, and will try to do so in the future as well!
