Bátur vaggar

Bátur vaggar, means ‘A Rocking Boat’.

I’ve been quite inspired by a moody atmosphere in the paintings recently.

Without any reference, I imagined the Westman Islands, Vestmannaeyjar, when I painted this, the steep rocky hills and green grass-coated slopes, surrounded by the ocean. There are lots of inlets and calm spots around the islands, where I envisioned the setting for this painting.
