Nagli is the Icelandic word for a nail. This horse portrait is painted in Nagli’s memory.
This horse’s name was Nagli, but he was found dead in the pasture. It is always tragic when one finds their animals dead, but to his owner, Nagli was the best riding horse one could dream of.
While painting Nagli, I kept bold strokes, vibrant colors and decided to make use of a ‘happy little accident’ on his cheek by making it his farm.
